Title“The Mini-EUSO experiment on board the International Space Station: first results and perspectives “
AbstractMini-EUSO is a UV (Ultraviolet) band imaging telescope launched on board the ISS (International Space Station) in 2019 and currently operational in the Russian section of the station. The scientific objectives are the search for strange quark matter, interstellar meteors, Ultra-High Energy cosmic rays (E>1021eV), mapping of night-time Earth in the UV range, observations of meteors, Transient Luminous Events (in particular Elves) and the observation of meteors. We will report on the first results and perspectives of the mission, as well as the ongoing preparations for EUSO-SPB2 a NASA super-pressure balloon flight scheduled to launch from Wanaka (NZ) in 2023.
