| ” T2K is a long baseline neutrino oscillation experiment utilizing an intense neutrino beam produced at J-PARC and detected by Super-Kamiokande located at a distance of 295 km. The primary goal of T2K is to complete the leptonic flavor mixing picture by discovering the last unknown angle theta_13 and by precisely measuring the atmospheric neutrino parameters. T2K started physics data taking in January 2010. In this talk, the first results based on the data taken in the first half of 2010, demonstrating the performance of the experiment, will be presented. Prospects for achieving the ultimate discovery sensitivity will be shown. “ |
