Prof. Kajita Elected as International Member of the National Academy of Sciences, USA

 The National Academy of Sciences, USA announced on May 3, 2022, the election of 120 members and 30 international members in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. And Prof. Takaaki Kajita was elected as one of the international members.

 The National Academy of Science (NAS) established by an Act of Congress, signed by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, is charged with providing independent, objective advice to the USA on matters related to science and technology. According to NAS, those elected brought the total number of active members to 2,512 and the total number of international members to 517, including approximately 190 Novel laureates as Prof. Kajita.
