Title“Search for the source of ultra-high energy cosmic rays – Energy spectrum anisotropies”
AbstractUltra-high energy cosmic rays are the most energetic particles incident on the earth from outer space. Where and how can these particles be accelerated to such high energy is one of themajor science mysteries at present. In this talk, the basics of ultra-high energy cosmic rays are explained and the major issues in the observational data are reviewed. Then, the statistical methods to search for the sources of ultra-high energy cosmic rays are introduced and the recent results, focusing on energy spectrum anisotropies, are presented.
