Description

The Pierre Auger Observatory has been designed to investigate the origin and nature of Ultra High Energy Cosmic rays with energies from 1017 to 1020 eV. We will review some seletected recent results obtained from data of the Pierre Auger Observatory and discuss the implication of these results for assembling a consistent description of the composition, origin and propagation of cosmic rays. We will discuss the open questions that will be adressed by the foreseen upgrade of the Observatory.
