New Information

-CLIO sensitivity is being enhanced !
-CLIO serched GWs from the Vela Pulsar (2007/2)
-CLIO started to be operated as a GW detector!
-CLIO four mirrors were cooled around 20K.
-TAC Report for the LCGT project was submitted.(See LCGT Project).
-100mFP cavity suspended 6 stages suspension was succcessfully controled on resonance.

CLIO sensitivity is being enhanced!

We restarted the noise hunting from April 2008 to reach the sensitivity limit at the room temperature. We obtained the besr sesitivity ever in Octver 3 2008 by beam centering. .
Sensitivity data is under preparation (20081003)

CLIO became a GW detector!

CLIO started to be operated as a GW detector using cryogenic mirrors.

CLIO vacuum stuff installation

100m arm and vacuum tanks in the center room were constructed.

3 CLIO cryostats were set.

Construction of CLIO Mode Cleaner

We are now constructing a mode cleaner.

Clean Booth in CLIO is built

Press Presentation for Kamioka Laser Interferometric Strainmeter Construction

-In 20th August 2003, the press presentation to report the world best sensitive KAMIOKA Laser Interferometric Strainmeter(KLIS) construction was held in the KAMIOKA Observatory. Over 10 press bureaus attended it. After the each president of Kamioka Observatory, Pro. Suzuki, of ICRR Pro.Yoshimura, of ERI Pro.Yamashita, and a chief of Univ.Kyoto physics department, Pro.Sasao presented addresses, Pro. Takemoto explained about KAMIOKA Laser Interferometric Strainmeter. Pro.Takemoto, Associate Pro.Araya, Associate Pro.Ohashi and Associate Researcher Morii replied to each question of the press bureaus. After that, a tour to KLIS was held.

LISM Interferometer

The noise spectrum of LISM was improved by 1/10 in lower frequency range,
by 1/2 in high frequency range using TAMA style 2-stage pendulum and high
quality mirrors.

CLIO-100

During 8/26-29, the elastic wave velocity of the CLIO-100 tunnel's rock was measured by Pro.Takemoto group and Dr. Araya. The photos are listed here.

---CLIO100 tunnel was ready in 31th July---

CLIO100 will be constructed in the KAMIOKA mine to demonstrate performance of a cryogenic laser interferometer for LCGT. Parallelly, a laser strain meter will be also constructed (orange interferometer in the figure). The strain meter is controlled by Dr. Araya in Earthquake Research Institute.
