{"id":4763,"date":"2013-02-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-02-22T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www-v2.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp\/prwps\/news_en\/4763\/"},"modified":"2019-09-26T16:48:15","modified_gmt":"2019-09-26T07:48:15","slug":"icrr-held-the-2nd-graduate-student-workshop","status":"publish","type":"news_en","link":"https:\/\/www.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp\/en\/news_en\/4763\/","title":{"rendered":"ICRR held the 2nd Graduate Student Workshop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On February 22, 2013, ICRR held the 2nd Graduate Student Workshop.<\/p>\n<p>The ICRR Graduate Student Workshop was founded last year with the aim of giving ICRR graduate students opportunities to communicate their research activities and achievements to their colleagues and to become familiar with broad subjects in cosmic ray research.<\/p>\n<p> &#8220;Graduate students at ICRR will lead the field of cosmic ray research in the future. Make good use of this opportunity for networking and to find something that would help your research,&#8221; said Prof. Kajita, the director of ICRR.<\/p>\n<p>The workshop consisted of three verbal session and a poster session. Each presentation received many excellent questions, and enthusiastic responses from their peers and faculty members.<\/p>\n<p>The Best Presentation Awards were presented to a Master student Ryo Mikami who presented &#8220;Giant Radio Pulses from the Crab Pulsar: Study of Radiation Mechanism with Simultaneous radio and hard x-ray observations,&#8221; and a Doctoral student Ken-ichi Saikawa who presented &#8220;Thermalization of axion dark matter.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The program and presentation slides and posters are found <a
