Although the ordering of the three neutrino masses is still unknown, their results show that depending on this ordering, the magnitude of CP symmetry violation\u2014a difference in behavior between particles and antiparticles\u2014would be strongly constrained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" src=\"https:\/\/www.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp\/prwps\/wp-content\/uploads\/T2KPressRelease2025.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17254\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp\/prwps\/wp-content\/uploads\/T2KPressRelease2025.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp\/prwps\/wp-content\/uploads\/T2KPressRelease2025-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption>T2K in Japan (left) and NOvA in the United States (right) are both long-baseline experiments: they each shoot an intense beam of neutrinos that passes through both a near detector close to the neutrino source and a far detector hundreds of kilometers away.
