LEAP'03 (Low Energy Antiproton Physics)
March 3-7, 2003, Yokohama, Japan
Second Circular - Register before Feburary 3rd, 2003


The VIIth International Conference on Low Energy Antiproton Physics
 (LEAP'03) will be held in Yokohama, Japan. Subjects to be discussed
 will include 

 1)Tests of CPT Invariance, 
 2) QCD Tests, 
 3) Antihydrogen, 
 4) Antiprotonic Atoms, 
 5) Nuclear Physics with Antinucleons, 
 6) Atomic Collisions with Slow Antiprotons,
 7) Antimatter in the Universe, and
 8) Instrumentation and future facilities.

Physics at CERN's antiproton decelerator (AD), as well as physics 
possibilities at future facilities such as at J-PARC and GSI will be 
emphasized. 

The scientific program has been nearly finalized, but we welcome 
post-deadline poster contributions. 

Dates and Location

  Date/Time - The conference starts on March 3, 2003 (Monday) 9 am 
              and ends on March 7 (Friday) afternoon
  Conference site - The conference venue is "Yokohama Symposia" located
              in the heart of Yokohama City, near the port of Yokohama
              and Chinatown. 
  Location - 9th Floor, Sangyo Boeki Center, 2 Yamashita-Cho, Naka-Ku, 
             Yokohama 231-0023, Japan

Oral presentation

  In the oral presentation, an overhead projector (OHP) and an LCD 
  projector will be available. We suggest you to prepare transparency 
  sheets for the OHP in case of trouble with the projector. 

Poster Session with Sake and Snacks

  Poster session will be held on March 4 (Tuesday) afternoon. A space 
  of 90 cm (width) by 180 cm (height) will be provided for each poster. 

Proceedings

  The proceedings will be published in Nuclear Instruments and Method B. 
  All oral presentations will be included. Spearkers will receive 
  instructions for preparing proceeding manuscript soon. A copy of 
  the proceedings will be mailed to each registered participant.

Informal workshops

  An informal workshop to discuss the future of AD experiments will 
  take place on March 4 (Tuesday) afternoon (free discussion, no 
  proceedings). A similar (parallel) workshop to discuss GSI 
  experiments will be also organized.

Computer terminal

  Ethernet sockets and a wireless access point for notebook access will
  be provided. A limited number of PC's will be also made available.

Registration Fee*
    JPY 30,000 if registered before Feb 03, JPY 35,000 otherwise.
    Student discount is JPY 20,000 before Feb 03, JPY 25,000 after Feb 03.

    *Regular and Student registration fees include conference kit, 
     welcome drink, excursion, coffee breaks, banquet and a copy of 
     proceedings. 
    ** Banquet and excursion tickets for accompanying persons will be 
       sold at the conference site.

   Hotel reservations are processed on a first-come-first-served basis.

   Non-Japanese participants may take advantage of the "Yokohama 
   Convention Home Stay" program @ 2000 yen/night (breakfast, private 
   bedroom, shower/bath, within 60 min from the conference site using 
   public transport; limited availability). This will NOT be handled 
   by the travel agency. Request should be made directly to the 
   conference organizer by sending an e-mail to Leap03 [at] cern.ch.

Transportation

  Yokohama can be reached in 90 min by airport bus or in 80 min by 
  train from Tokyo Narita International Airport. For those who reserved 
  a hotel through the KNT travel agency shall receive detailed 
  instructions to reach your hotel/conference venue.

Welcome drink

  Welcome drink will be served during the registration on Sunday 
  (18:00-20:00) at Yokohama Symposia.

Excursion & Banquet
  Excursion
   On Wednesday, a conference tour to Kamakura will be organized
   (tentative plan). 

  Banquet
   Conference banquet will take place on Thursday evening.
