Stefan Institute) Place : KEK Tsukuba campus 4th building seminar hall + Zoom Abstract: LAPPD (Large Area Picosecond Photon Detector) is a large MCP-PMT with a large active area of about 20 cm x 20 cm. It is a promising candidate for an upgrade of the Belle II ARICH detector, a proximity-focusing RICH with a two-layer (focusing) aerogel. Generation II LAPPD with a capacitively coupled sensing electrode was bench tested with a picosecond laser to evaluate its properties. The main focus was on the time and position resolution, and the spread of the induced charge on the sensing electrode.
