JRA program provides part-time positions at RIKEN for energetic and open-minded young researchers enrolled in Japanese university PhD programs for the purpose of giving them the opportunity to carry out research alongside RIKEN scientists, enhancing RIKEN's creative and basic research capabilities, and strengthening ties between RIKEN and universities in Japan. Total number of openings is around 60. Salary is JPY164,000 per month, tax included. Commuting allowance will be added. Laboratories that are scheduled to close sometime in or at the end of FY 2021 may not host a JRA. (In the case of candidates to start on October 1, the laboratory must be able to host for a period exceeding one year from October.) (2) Laboratories that are only nominally headed by the head of another laboratory may not host a JRA. (3) The laboratory must have fulltime researchers on staff who can give instruction to the student.
