　この度、科研費新学術領域研究「重力波天体の多様な観測による宇宙物理学の
新展開」（略称「重力波天体」）では、昨年度までにひきつづき、第４回の領域
シンポジウムを開催します。

　米国のadvanced LIGO実験が2015年に稼働し、その電磁フォローアップについ
ては本領域の研究グループも参加しています。また、日本ではKAGRAの第１期実験
施設が完成し、まもなく最初の観測運転 iKAGRAが始まります。Super-Kamiokande
でも将来のガドリニウム導入が決まり、本領域のニュートリノ研究グループも一層の
活躍が期待されています。
　こうした最新の状況を含む、本領域の各計画研究および公募研究からの報告があり
ます。また今回も４件の招待講演が予定されています。

　シンポジウムは領域メンバー以外の研究者の参加も歓迎です。重力波天体に関する
研究は、重力波や一般相対論はいうまでもなく、多様な天観測や宇宙物理や素粒子・
原子核物理などの広い範囲の関連トピックスが期待されています。本新学術研究領域
では、研究コミュニティを広げてゆきたいと考えております。ご関心をお持ちの方は、
奮って御参加いただきますよう、よろしくお願い申し上げます。
