After a couple of years experiencing with single-use (like the infamous Kodak Fun) and all-plastic cameras, I finally decided to cross the bridge and in Christmas Eve 2001 I had in my hand the wonderful Olympus Camedia C-2100 UltraZoom, just a few months before it exited the market (you can read more about it at Steve's Digicams or at Digital Photography Review). I was very happy with it, and it has been perhaps one of the best quality/price ratio electronic gadgets I've bought.
The pictures I could take with it are 1600x1200
pixels, fitting perfectly the resolution of the 15 inches display on my
laptop. But I often try to overcome this "poor" resolution (compared to
state-of-the-art 8Mpixels cameras) by stitching many pictures together,
thus obtaining amazing panoramas. Up to now, I've shot probably 10 thousands photos, half of them are not even worth a look, I'm happy with 10% of them, and I think I would candidate one or two hundreds for an exibition.
It takes to me some time to post-process and catalogue all my photos. I will put in this site a good sample of them.
Since July 2004, I own a new camera, namely the Canon S1 IS, equipped with 1GB CF memory card.
