Meeting Contents
This meeting will be devoted to a consideration of Ashra, All-sky Survey High
Resolution Air-shower Detector, the R&D status, future plan, and concretely forming
international collaboration. Physicists from Univ.Hawaii, Taiwan Institutes,
and Japanese Institutes are expected to participate and
discuss the critical issues
for this next step in the study of Particle Astronomy with Ashra, its detector
design, and how to proceed the plan as well as the collaborator governance
issues.
This meeting will be held at the Hawaii IMIN Conference Center
on campus in the "Pacific" room during January 8-9, 2004. Also
we are planning to visit Haleakala, a test site for Ashra on Maui Island,
and Mauna Loa Observatory, an observation site candidate on Big Island on January
7 and 10, respectively.

For the pre and post meeting tours, please purchase airline tickets to
satisfy the following conditions if you join the tours.
1) Pre-meeting Tour in Maui:
Meet together, Jan.7 10:00 at Luggage Claim of Kahului airport
Stay at Kula lodge to have an experience of night there.
2) Ashra meeting:
Start, Jan.8 10:30 at the Hawaii IMIN Conference Center in
Univ.Hawaii after flight from Kahului to Honolulu.
3) Post-meeting Tour in Hawaii:
Meet together, Jan.10 10:00 at Luggage Claim of Hilo airport
Stay at a hotel (to be fixed later) to have an experience of night there.

The High Energy Physics Group is cenetered in the nearby Watanabe Hall.
The common room, 217 has terminals, fax, coffee. Ask group secretarial
help accross the hall if you need assistance, such as an office, phone,
etc. Also, local collaborators Tom Browder, Gene Guillian, John Learned

We would like to collect a fee of $30 per person to cover coffee and
snacks for the meetings.

can post proceedings of the meeting.
Hotel reservations

Participants can either request dorm reservations or hotel reservations at Maile Sky Court ($50 & $60 rooms).
Or you can ask to find other hotels if needed. Anyone wishing reservations other than at Maile Sky Court or dorm will
need to submit credit card information.

We strongly recommend that room reservations be made early as January is the high season and
hotels fill up fast.
Transportation from Hotels to UH(University of Hawaii)

Public bus service is available from the hotels
to the campus at $2.00 each way and they run every 15 minutes.

Parking shouldn't be a problem if participants prefer to drive.
