 the 9th Topical Seminar on Innovative Particle and Radiation Detectors
 (IPRD04) will be held on May 23-26, 2004 at the University of Siena,
 Italy.
 The conference will focus on the applications of detectors in particle
 physics experiments, both with and without accelerators, and on the
 perspectives opened by balloon-borne and space based experiments.
 Special attention will be devoted to the application of these detectors
 in other fields (medicine, biology, astrophysics and others).
 
 The conference will consist of only plenary sessions. There will be a
 mixture of overview talks and shorter contributions. The presentation
 of posters is also foreseen.
