宇宙線研究所 鈴木洋一郎 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Enclosed please find the announcement of the "International Workshop on Neutrino Oscillations and their Origin", which will be held near Tokyo, Japan, on 11th through 15th Febrary, 2004. The workshop website is: http://www-sk.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp/noon2004 Best Regards, Yoichiro Suzuki Chairman of NOON2004 Kamioka observatory, ICRR, Univ. of Tokyo first bulletin -------------------- ================================================================== || The 5th Workshop on "Neutrino Oscillations and their Origin" || || ---- NOON2004 ---- || ================================================================== The 5th International Workshop on Neutrino Oscillations and their Origin (NOON2004) will be held at Tokyo, Japan, from February 11th to February 15th of 2004. This is the fifth workshop of this series. The neutrino oscillations discovered in atmospheric and solar neutrinos, are now confirmed by the terrestrial oscillation experiments by using man-made neutrinos by a high energy accelerator and nuclear reactors. It is now important to make precise studies on neutrino mixing matrix including a search for positive effects of as yet undiscovered theta_13, and on sub-dominant effects due to neutrino properties which may be hidden in the current experimental accuracy. The terrestrial experiments, as well as the precise studies on atmospheric solar neutrinos may lead us to the physics beyond the standard scenario of neutrino oscillations. This workshop is therefore organized to discuss the recent progress in neutrino oscillation physics and future directions by theorists and experimentalists together. Astrophysical implications on neutrino masses and oscillations are also important subjects. We also include the related subjects like search for neutrino masses by double beta decays or by direct methods which will provide quantitatively different information than the oscillation phenomena. We extend the subject to include the studies on dark matter. As a 5th workshop, we will discuss following subjects: 1) Current status solar neutrino experiments and road map towards the future 2) Atmospheric neutrino results and future 3) Current status of accelerator neutrino experiments and future 4) Status of the theoretical study of neutrino mixing and mass 5) Future prospects of neutrino oscillations study 6) Neutrino masses in cosmology 7) mu->e-gamma and lepton flavor violation 8) Proton decays, GUT, leptogenesis 9) Astrophysical neutrinos, neutrinos from supernovae 10) Study on double beta decay 11) Dark matter search and other related subjects. Date of the workshop ==================== February 11th(Wed.) to 15th(Sun.), 2004 Workshop Site ============= Workshop site is near Tokyo, Japan.
