病気療養中のところ、平成１２年１１月１４日（火）午後４時４０分ご逝去されました
ので、謹んでお知らせいたします。　なお、告別式等は下記のとおり執り行われます。

Dear High Energy Physics and Cosmic Rays colleagues, 

It is our sad duty to inform you of that, Professor Shuji Orito, 
former Director of ICEPP, the University of Tokyo, and 
a founder member of the OPAL experiment at the LEP collider, 
passed away on November 14th.  
He had been in a long hospitalization after an unfortunate stroke 
that suddenly attacked him 14 months ago.
