Applications from students with a high level curriculum from around the world will be given consideration. The deadline for applications for the next academic year is April 15, 2015. The GSSI is a newly founded Institute committed to excellence in education at graduate level as well as in research in the fields of Astroparticle Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Urban Studies. It is based in the city of L’Aquila, Italy, at the foot of the Gran Sasso Mountain and in close proximity to the renowned Gran Sasso National Laboratory, where forefront research in underground Physics has been carried out for over three decades. Within the realm of Astroparticle physics, research topics include particle physics within and beyond the standard model, high energy astrophysics, gravitational physics and cosmology, neutrino physics, nuclear physics and astrophysics, and dark matter searches. Ten positions are available for Ph.D. students in the field of Astroparticle Physics. Students are expected to attend several courses and pass regular tests to access the following years. The courses, as well as short series of lectures, will be delivered by high level internationally well established scientists from around the world (see http://www.gssi.infn.it/index.php/en/courses for a list of courses and faculty members in the department of Astroparticle Physics). Students are also expected to carry out their research programs in close collaboration with scientists in the GSSI Faculty. At the end of the three years of the graduate program the students will be required to defend a research dissertation. All students admitted for attendance for graduate courses at the GSSI will receive financial support of 16,200.00 Euros per year (gross money). Moreover they will be provided accommodation and meals in the city of L’Aquila with no charge for the students.
