It would be a great pleasure for us to welcome you at the workshop. Future experiments at the Terascale demand "zero-material" tracking detectors with excellent space and energy resolution. Conversely, the increased complexity and granularity on inner tracking detectors impose strong requirements on powerful cooling and excellent structural rigidity. This challenging task can only be accomplished with tight collaboration between research institutes, academia and industry. The aim of this workshop is to bring all the relevant partners together in order to - review the solutions used in the existing tracking detectors, - outline the requirements on passive materials for HEP detectors, - review the state of the art materials with emphasis on the thermal and mechanical properties, - discuss limitations and options, and - sketch the dream that will support HEP detectors in 10 years time. We would appreciate if you could use the online registration form on the workshop Indico page: http://indico.desy.de/confRegistrationFormDisplay.py?confId=6112 Participating in the workshop is free of charge. Refreshments at coffee breaks will be provided but lunches are not included. There will be an optional workshop dinner to be held on Thursday evening, 13 September. Best Regards, Andreas Mussgiller for the organizing committee =====================================
