KEK, Tsukuba, Japan URL: http://kds.kek.jp/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=7625 (A username and a password will also appear on the screen) Second Circular (20 Sep. 2011) =========================================================================== Aim: The high energy astrophysics and astroparticle physics is now a crossover discipline tying the diverse fields of Particle Physics, Cosmology and Astrophysics. The aim of the workshop is to exchange ideas on the intertwined fundamental problems, such as the origin of cosmic particles and jets, the nature of dark matter and Physics beyond the Standard Model by discussing the latest observational and theoretical developments in these fields with leading researchers from around the world. The workshop is held as part of annual activities in KEK to promote these attractive areas. This year we put some emphasis on the gamma-ray universe revealed by the current Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope and future Cerenkov Telescope Array (CTA), still widely covering the related topics. As evidenced by the Fermi satellite, the gamma-ray sky provides the prime mover not only scientifically but also technologically for the accelerator laboratories. CTA is the next generation instrument constructed internationally, with a factor of 5-10 improvement in sensitivity in the 100 GeV to 10 TeV range and the extension to energies well below 100 GeV and above 100 TeV. We discuss the scientific prospects on top of the recent developments led by the ongoing projects, such as Fermi, LHC, PAMELA, AKARI, IceCube, etc. Invited Speakers: Casolino, Marco (RIKEN) [Cosmic Ray, PAMELA] Ebisuzaki, Toshikazu [Cosmic Ray, EUSO] Gondolo, Paolo (Utah) [Dark Matter] Itow, Yoshitaka (Nagoya) [LHCf] Kohri, Kazunori (KEK) [Axion] Matsumoto, Toshio (Seoul) [Cosmic Infrared Background] Ohira, Yutaka (KEK) [Supernova Remnant] Ostapchenko, Sergey (NTNU) [Hadron] Paneque, David (MPI) [Fermi] [Axion] Reville, Brian (Oxford) [Particle Acceleration] Sarkar, Subir (Oxford) [Fundamental Physics, Cosmic Ray] Siegal-Gaskins, Jennifer (Ohio/Caltech) [Gamma-Ray Background] Stawarz, Lukasz (JAXA) [Active Galactic Nuclei] Teshima, Masahiro (MPI/ICRR) [CTA, Very-High-Energy Highlights] Toma, Kenji (Osaka) [Gamma-Ray Burst] Torii, Shoji (Waseda) [Cosmic Ray, CALET] Totani, Tomonori (Kyoto) [Extragalactic Background Light, Gamma] Wang, Xiang-Yu (Nanjing) [Hypernova, Cosmic Ray] Yoshida, Shigeru (Chiba) [Neutrino, IceCube] Yoshimura, Koji (KEK) [Cosmic Ray, BESS] Registration (Deadline: 30 Sep. 2011): All participants are required to make an on-line registration through KEK User Registration as instructed in the webpage: http://kds.kek.jp/internalPage.py?pageId=10&confId=7625 The registration fee will be collected at the registration desk by cash.
