In the field of particle astrophysics and cosmology, the laboratory is closely integrated with the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology (KIPAC) of Stanford University. SLAC invites applications for Postdoctoral Research Associate positions to work with the GLAST LAT team at SLAC. The Large Area Telescope (LAT), the primary instrument of the GLAST mission that will launch in early 2008, was integrated at SLAC. SLAC hosts the LAT Instrument Science Operations Center (ISOC) and is responsible for the configuration, calibration, and initial data processing for the LAT. Research at SLAC related to GLAST focuses on fundamental physics issues including the search for dark matter, and cosmic particle interaction and acceleration mechanisms, and relativistic outflows. For details about the LAT, its operations, and science see http://glast.stanford.edu and http://glast-isoc.slac.stanford.edu/. The appointees will conduct research with GLAST and related multi-wavelength data and play significant roles in instrument operation and performance analysis in collaboration with the ISOC. Applicants should hold a recent Ph. D. in Physics or Astrophysics. The tenure is two years, with the potential for subsequent annual renewals subject to satisfactory performance. To receive full consideration, all application material should be received by December 1, 2007. The material should include a letter stating physics research interests, a CV, and three letters of reference. Please send applications, via email or postal mail, to Ms. Lilian DePorcel (lilian [at] slac. stanford.edu), Stanford Linear Accelerator Center, MS 60, 2575 Sand Hill Road, Menlo Park, CA 94025 USA. ======================================
